Police Report: Standoff; Dummy Owner Cited

Waukesha Police Department calls from Aug. 19 and Aug. 20.

  • A shop was burglarized overnight and reported at 8:22 a.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of East Main Street.  A customer’s 1999 Cadillac was stolen, as well as a laptop, rims and a radio.
  • A man was arrested at 8:39 a.m. Friday after it was reported he was violating a bail order in the 2700 block of North University Drive.
  • A person who has a dummy in the back seat of a red car was cited for noise at 11:01 a.m. Friday after it was reported the car was playing a recording stating “Mommy don’t hit me.” The driver told police it was the car alarm and that she would change the settings.
  • A woman who was approached by a man who asked her to have sex on the bike trail was assisted by two other people. Police learned about the incident through a 9-1-1 hang-up call at 11:51 a.m. Friday in the 2700 block of Sandra Lane.
  • Police escorted the victim of an attempted homicide in Milwaukee to her residence in the 2400 block of Springdale Road to ensure her safety at 1:41 p.m. Friday.
  • The word “manwhore” was spray painted on a driveway at 3:19 p.m. Friday in the 700 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
  • A bike was stolen at 3:21 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of John Street.
  • A person was arrested after a retail theft was reported at 4:12 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of East Moreland Boulevard.
  • A fight was reported at 4:35 p.m. Friday at Horeb Spring Park but all individuals involved worked out the problem in lieu of getting arrested.
  • A person who was testing out a new stereo system on a car was advised after it was reported at 6:43 p.m. Friday that a caller could hear music at Saratoga Road and Melody Lane.
  • A person was advised about the proper use of 9-1-1 after Waukesha County Communications received four hang-up calls. The person reported being threatened by a neighbor over a parking spot at 7:01 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of Haymarket Road.
  • The theft of cell phones was reported at 7:08 p.m. Friday from the 1900 block of Silvernail Road. The store reported missing $7,500 worth of merchandise.
  • A 4-year-old reportedly was throwing items in the street at 7:19 p.m. Friday at Orchard and Summit avenues.
  • A vehicle reportedly was purchased from the 2100 block of East Moreland Boulevard through an identity theft at 7:27 p.m. Friday.
  • A possible intoxicated driver was reported at 7:50 p.m. Friday at the Waukesha County Courthouse. Sheriff’s deputies who were at the jail handled the issue.
  • One person was arrested at 8:53 p.m. Friday during a traffic stop at West Laflin And South Grand avenues. Another person was warned about a registration lamp on his vehicle and keeping knives in his vehicle.
  • Suspicious vehicles were reported at 9:27 p.m. Friday in the 1600 block of Lincoln Avenue.
  • A caller reported a loud grinding noise coming from the vacant Spancrete property at 1600 E. Main St. at 9:42 p.m. Friday. Police determined the noise was likely coming from the Payne and Dolan quarry, which is not located in the city where police have jurisdiction. Police attempted to contact the caller but there was no answer at the door.
  • A person was arrested on 10 warrants during a traffic stop at 10:07 p.m. Friday at Maple and Wisconsin avenues.
  • People were advised after a noise complaint was made at 10:11 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of West Main Street.
  • People were advised after loud music was reported at 10:37 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of South East Avenue.
  • A house was egged at 11:01 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Walton Avenue. There were no suspects.
  • People were advised about open intoxicants at 12:41 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Williams Street. Police made a walk through of the bar.
  • A man who was described to dispatch as having mental unstable conditions was arrested after an hour long standoff at 1:29 a.m. Saturday in the 1500 block of East Roberta Avenue. The man was reported to be throwing items and was known to have knives.
  • A domestic disturbance was reported at 2:29 a.m. Saturday. The woman withdrew the complaint and left the residence in the 2600 block of North University Drive.
  • Two intoxicated people who were arguing about past girlfriends while walking home from the bar were advised by police at 3:10 a.m. Saturday at Garfield Avenue and West Sunset Drive.
  • A person was reportedly screaming at 3:29 a.m. Saturday at Oakdale Drive and Foxwood Trail.
