Police Report: Shooting a Crow; Playing Chicken With a Train

Waukesha Police Department calls from May 16 and May 17.

A juvenile reportedly shot a crow with a bb gun at 1:44 p.m. Monday in the 1200 block of Hickory Drive South. The juvenile admitted to police he had shot at birds and squirrels. Police confiscated the bb gun and the neighbor advised police that the juvenile's father would be contacted, according to the Waukesha Police Department’s call log.

The crow, however, was gone before police arrived.

  • A person reportedly crawled under a fence and stole $3,000 worth of wire, which was reported to police at 9:58 a.m. Monday.
  • Waukesha Memorial Hospital was tagged with graffiti at 10:16 a.m. Monday. It is the second incident at the hospital in days.
  • A man reportedly was “playing chicken” with a train at 12:10 p.m. Monday at East Park and North East avenues. The man was gone before police arrived.
  • Juveniles reportedly were throwing pennies at a friend’s vehicle as a joke at 1:05 p.m. Monday at South East Avenue and East Sunset Drive.
  • Nazi graffiti was reported at 2:16 p.m. Monday on a bridge at Marshall Street and West Dunbar Avenue.
  • The theft of a flat screen TV was reported during a burglary at 2:36 p.m. Monday in the 300 block of Douglass Avenue.
  • Children reportedly were riding their bikes on the roof of the former Department of Transportation building at 6:02 p.m. Monday at West Newhall and South West avenues.
  • A domestic disturbance was reported at 7:33 p.m. Monday in the 100 block of East Broadway.
  • Juveniles were reportedly on the roof at Whittier Elementary School at 7:48 p.m. Monday. The juveniles were gone before police arrived.
  • A caller reported two men and a women were engaged in sexual activity at 8:34 p.m. Monday in Frame Park, but when police arrived, everyone was fully clothed and were geocaching.
  • A homeless man was advised by police that he could not sleep near the train tracks at 12:44 a.m. Tuesday at North Hartwell Avenue and East Main Street.
  • A teen was cited and released for disorderly conduct and underage alcohol violation after a battery was reported at 12:46 a.m. Tuesday in the 1400 block of Garfield Avenue.
