Police Report: Not-so-Lovely Love Letters; Donations for a Cell Phone

Waukesha Police Department calls from Oct. 2 and Oct. 3.

The following information was supplied by the  Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

  • A person was cited for a loud noise violation at 8:27 a.m. Sunday after it had been reported that a party in the 800 block of Beechwood Avenue had been going on all night.
  • A neighbor problem was reported at 10:47 a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Oak Ridge Court after it was reported that a person had cut some branches that were hanging on that person’s side of the property line.
  • A person reported that his car was stolen at 2 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of Williams Street. The person found the car later because the caller had been drunk the night before and took a ride home, leaving the car parked in the bar parking lot and forgot where he had parked his car. No complaint was filed.
  • A harassing e-mail was reported at 2:04 p.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Glenwood Drive.
  • A theft of a garbage can was reported at 3:04 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Wilson Avenue.
  • Four juveniles reportedly were sitting in the road and then running when cars came before going back to the road at 4:01 p.m. Sunday at Manhattan Drive and East Moreland Boulevard. Police advised the girls about their behavior, who promised no more police contacts.
  • An 8-year-old boy reportedly was going door-to-door to try to get money for a cell phone. Police made contact with the boy’s father, who was unaware that his son was begging for money at 4:20 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of North James Street.
  • A stolen cell phone was reported at 4:34 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of North Grand Avenue.
  • Three children at 5:03 p.m. Sunday called their mother to say that their dad had left them at 5:03 p.m. Sunday in the 800 block of Northview Road and had been gone for an hour. Police responded, investigated and learned the girls had been hiding from their father because they didn’t want to be with him. The father told police that the mother “brainwashes” and “manipulates” them. Police contacted a guardian ad litem.
  • A fight was reported at 5:37 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of East Sunset Drive, but the people had left before police arrival.
  • A woman who reportedly had been banned from the 100 block of West North Street was moved along by police at 6:15 p.m. Sunday.
  • A person reported that there was a loud band for a birthday party at 6:27 p.m. Sunday in the 1100 block of Lombardi Way. Police determined the noise was not excessive for the time of day, but the band was going to be packing up soon anyway.
  • A Carroll University student reported that she had a note from a man who was not a student that asked her to go for a walk to see if they were compatible for marriage and as sexual partners. Police responded and made contact with the suspect, who said his friends had played a prank on both him and the girl by giving them both “love letters” from each other at 7:31 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Main Street. The suspect apologized for his “ignorant” friends.
  • A juvenile was warned at 7:44 p.m. Sunday after it was reported he had locked himself in his room and was punching walls in the 1300 block of East Wabash Avenue.
  • A woman was arrested after a domestic disturbance was reported at 7:48 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Harrison Avenue. The caller reported that police had taken a shotgun from the residence in the past.
  • A person reported at 8:13 p.m. Sunday that he found his stolen vehicle at 8:13 p.m. Sunday in the 300 block of East Broadway. The vehicle did belong to the person and was towed back  to the Waukesha Police Department.
  • A person was arrested after it was reported a man was shooting a BB gun off a balcony at water bottles that were in a yard of an apartment building  at 8:27 p.m. Sunday in the 2600 block of Fielding Lane.
  • A 26-year-old man was arrested at 8:49 p.m. Sunday after it was reported that the man had hit his mother in the back and had broken dishes  in the 1500 block of Big Bend Road.
  • A person reported that a man with a black eye was laying down at 9:01 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of West Main Street with a Band-Aid under the eye. Police responded and found that the man was taking a nap.
  • A person was arrested after it was reported that two male juveniles were being loud at 10:13 p.m. Sunday at Lemira and North Washington avenues.
  • A woman reported at 10:53 p.m. Sunday that a man had choked her at 10:53 p.m. Sunday in the 1500 block of Irving Place during an argument about who would pay property taxes on a home up north. The woman became upset after police learned that the woman was intoxicated and questioned why her marks looked self-inflicted. When police responded, the woman was screaming and using profane language in the yard against the men. The sober men at the call told police the woman had become upset after her boyfriend asked her to stop drinking and she lunged toward her boyfriend’s 92-year-old father. The father used a hand to push her back into the chair. Police told the woman she needed to leave, which is when she started to yell at police and called 9-1-1 to say that the officers were not doing their jobs. The woman took a cab to a restaurant to wait for a ride.
  • An intoxicated woman reported hearing suspicious noises at 11:26 p.m. Sunday and finding a computer that did not belong to her under the bed in the 2000 block of South East Avenue. Police reassured the caller and determined the laptop was likely the woman’s boyfriend’s computer.
  • A caller reported that a woman had been yelling at 11:39 p.m. Sunday and told the caller “I am going to knife you” in the 100 block of West North Street. The woman then left the area.
  • A woman who was found sleeping outside was moved along after it was reported at 1:04 a.m. Monday that people were using marijuana in the 200 block of West North Street. Police did not locate any evidence of marijuana.
  • Two people were arrested after suspicious people were caught on a video feed during an alarm at 2:06 a.m. Monday in the 600 block of Progress Avenue.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving at 2:54 a.m. Monday during a traffic stop in the 2200 block of Silvernail Road.
