Police Report: Mental Commitment; Police Chase; Engagement Rings

Waukesha Police Department calls from Jan. 4 and Jan. 5.

The following information was supplied by the Waukesha Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

  • A person was taken into custody on a mental-related chapter at 7:13 a.m. Wednesday after it was reported she was tapping a kitchen knife to a box while staring at a neighbor in the 900 block of North Hartwell Avenue.
  • A person reportedly dropped off TVs in front of a residence at 8:43 a.m. Wednesday in the 1400 block of Oakdale Drive.
  • Graffiti was reported at 9:21 a.m. Wednesday at Wisconsin Avenue and North Barstow Street.
  • A disorderly conduct incident was reported at Butler Middle School at 1:57 p.m. Wednesday.
  • Juveniles were reportedly causing issues at 3:34 p.m. Wednesday at Hinman Avenue and Jackson Court.
  • A fraud incident was reported at 3:41 p.m. Wednesday in the 200 block of Park Place.
  • Staff at the Waukesha Public Library reported that they suspected juveniles inhaling aerosol at 3:53 p.m. Wednesday in a study room. Police made contact, determined the juveniles did not show signs of impairment. The juveniles told police they did not know where the cans came from.
  • A theft was reported at 4:06 p.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Arcadian Avenue.
  • A domestic disturbance incident was reported at 4:17 p.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of Fleetfoot Drive.
  • An intoxicated man who had urinated on himself at 5:10 p.m. Wednesday was reportedly trying to get on a bus at the downtown bus station. The man was advised and moved along.
  • A man reported at 6:17 p.m. Wednesday that his fiancée would not return the three engagement rings he gave her as a gift in the 200 block of Madison Street. The man told police he didn’t want to marry the woman anymore. The man was advised that it was a civil matter.
  • An intoxicated man fell and hit his face on the sidewalk at 7:03 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Wisconsin Avenue.
  • A person was detained by police on a warrant at 7:51 p.m. Wednesday in the 400 block of Harrison Avenue.
  • A person was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop at 8:09 p.m. Wednesday at East Racine Avenue and Highway 164.
  • A person was detained on a probation and parole violation at 8:29 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Sentinel Drive.
  • A man reported at 10:34 p.m. Wednesday being attacked in the 1600 block of East Sunset Drive. As he was driving to the Waukesha police station, the suspect was reportedly following him. Police attempted a traffic stop on the vehicle near City Hall, which resulted in a police chase at speeds of 80 mph. The vehicle pulled into a driveway on John Street and the suspect fled on foot but were later found as police set up a perimeter.  Two people were arrested in the incident.
  • A person was arrested during a traffic stop at 12:35 a.m. Thursday at Heyer and Lynne drives.
  • People were warned about park hours at 1:54 a.m. Thursday in the 2500 block of Pebble Valley Road.
