Police Report: Marijuana in Mailbox; Passed out on Canon

Waukesha Police Department calls from April 30 and May 1.

A woman reported at 1:03 a.m. Sunday that she was hit by an unknown man as she was leaving a friend’s apartment near South Prairie Avenue and West Sunset Drive. The woman told police she was opening her car door when she got punched by one of the two men, who were outside yelling at each other. The woman, who had swelling under her eye, told police the man was trying to punch the other man but hit her instead.

In other Waukesha Police Department calls:

  • A person was arrested after a woman reported at 3:24 p.m. Saturday that someone had placed marijuana in her mailbox in the 800 block of Scott Avenue and that she knew the suspect.
  • Police responded at 9:34 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Jackson Court after it was reported a man was holding a gun but was not threatening anyone. Police responded to the scene but were unable to do anything as the caller was uncooperative and did not want to identify himself to officers. Police cleared the scene as open carry is legal and no further information was given to the officers by the caller.
  • Police officers responded to the 100 block of Cambridge Avenue at 9:44 p.m. Saturday after a report of a man breaking windows of the home of his child’s mother. When police arrived, an officer heard a voice that sounded like a juvenile’s calling for help. Police searched the area for about 45 minutes but there was no sign of anyone. Police checked the pond, which showed no tracks and no signs that anyone had been in the area.
  • A party involving about 10 people with a mix of underage and of age people was shut down by police at 11:12 p.m. Saturday. A teenage girl who was previously reported missing was taken into custody and juvenile shelter care. All juveniles were sent home with their parents and the alcohol was dumped out by the resident in the 1400 block of Garfield Avenue.
  • Police responded to Cutler Park at 4:17 a.m. Sunday for a report that a person was passed out on a canon in the park.
