Police Report: Man With Knife; Hit By Tennis Ball

  • A theft of a copper fitting was reported at 7:55 a.m. Thursday in the 200 block of East North Street.
  • A confused man walked away from a group home on Summit Avenue and was found at 8:53 a.m. Thursday near Horeb Spring Park. The man was returned home.
  • A property was damaged when a person was on vacation. The incident, which involved cut cable and phone lines, was reported at 10:51 a.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of Oxbridge Court.
  • A man was arrested at 2:26 p.m. Thursday after it was reported he was holding a knife near Cutler Park and yelling and swearing at a person.
  • A theft of a bike was reported at 4:08 p.m. Thursday in the 200 block of West Laflin Avenue.
  • An identity theft incident was reported at 4:21 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of Summit Avenue.
  • A theft of rent money was reported at 5:50 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of Arcadian Avenue.
  • A theft of a wallet from a Speedway gas station, 521 S. Grand Ave., was reported at 6:18 p.m. Thursday in the 500 block of South Grand Avenue.
  • Juveniles were reportedly playing with fire at 8 p.m. Thursday in the 1100 block of Delafield Street. They were warned.
  • The smell of marijuana was reported at 9:53 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Kensington Drive but the apartment occupants refused to come to the door.
  • A vehicle was struck by a tennis ball at 10:25 p.m. Thursday in the 1900 block of Garland Avenue.
  • A group of kids were reportedly playing basketball and listening to music at 11:56 p.m. Thursday in the 2700 block of Wyngate Way. The mother of one of the children had told them to stop, and police reported that no music was playing when they arrived.
  • A man who was celebrating his birthday had too much to drink and was found sleeping in the grass at 3:15 a.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Grand Avenue. The man’s wife was called and she took him home.
