Police Report: Man Found Reading Book in Basement, Vehicle Kills Deer

Waukesha Police Department calls from March 6 and March 7.

A man who was reading a book in a basement storage unit found himself in police custody when a woman reported the incident to police at 10:27 p.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of Kensington Drive.

The woman told police she thought it was β€œodd” that the man was laying on the ground in the basement with the book and an open laptop.

  • A person drove away from a gas station at 11:51 a.m. Sunday in the 2500 block of North Grandview Boulevard without paying for $48.77 worth of gas.

  • A juvenile was arrested and taken into shelter care after it was reported at 6:52 p.m. Sunday that he trashed his bedroom and blocked the door so his mother could not enter in the 1200 block of South Grandview Boulevard.
  • Police removed a man from the seasonal homeless shelter at 9:30 p.m. Sunday and told him if he returned to the property in the 1700 block of Northview Road he would be arrested for trespassing. The man was removed from the shelter for breaking the shelter’s rules.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 2:04 a.m. Monday after a call about a suspicious person came from Walmart, 2000 S. West Ave.
  • A vehicle hit and killed a deer at 5:44 a.m. Monday during an accident at Century Oak Drive and Summit Avenue.
