Police Report: Man Attempts to Pick Squad Car Locks; BB Gun Shooting

Waukesha Police Department calls from Oct. 8 and Oct. 9.

The following information was supplied by the  Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

  • A person was hit by a bb gun bullet while sitting under a shelter at 8:56 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Harvey Avenue. The juvenile shooter was in the 400 block of West Newhall Avenue and it is believed the juvenile shooter had fired the pellet gun out the window. The juvenile was arrested. Police located the weapon.
  • A 12-year-old boy reported at 9:42 a.m. Saturday that his 9-year-old brother was hitting other girls in the apartment complex in the 1000 block of Delafield Street. Police responded and learned the 12-year-old boy called police because he had police called on him Friday and he wanted his brother to know how it felt. The 12-year-old boy was advised about the role of police.
  • A stop sign was stolen and reported at 9:55 a.m. Saturday at South James Street and East Laflin Avenue.
  • A driver of a green Chevy Blazer reportedly threw a beer can out the window at 9:57 a.m. Saturday in the 900 block of Perkins Avenue. The vehicle was gone before police arrival.
  • A verbal fight was reported between a coach and a parent at 10:11 a.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Harvey Avenue.
  • A rock was reportedly thrown through a window at 12:03 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Big Bend Road.
  • A retail theft was reported at 1:12 p.m. Saturday at Walmart.
  • A 17-year-old boy was arrested after it was reported he was uncontrollable and walking around the house swearing in the 2300 block of Pebble Valley Road.
  • An indecent exposure incident was reported at 3:05 p.m. Saturday in Frame Park but the man was gone before police arrived.
  • Two people were cited for underage drinking after a 19-year-old college student was found unconscious in the 100 block of South East Avenue. The young woman was taken to Waukesha Memorial Hospital for alcohol detox.
  • A juvenile was found wandering at 3:40 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Third Street. The child was returned to parents an hour later but police were contacting the Department of Health and Human Services for a follow up investigation.
  • A theft of laundry soap was reported at 3:51 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Sunset Drive.
  • A car tire was reported to be slashed at 3:53 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of North Moreland Boulevard.
  • A business was warned about loud noise at 4:24 p.m. Saturday in the 1700 block of South West Avenue.
  • A man reportedly was trying to pick the locks of squad cars’ trunks wile police were responding to another call at 4:26 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of Third Street. Police were alerted to the situation by neighbors. Police made contact with the man, who said he was goofing off to see if anyone would call the police. The man was warned about his behavior and his probation agent also was advised about his behavior.
  • An intoxicated man who was angry with himself for drinking too much at 4:40 p.m. Saturday walked into the path of a car that was backing up in the parking lot at Frame Park. The man said that made him angrier, so he flipped off the driver, who returned the hand gesture. No one was hit, although the man originally had called police to say he was hit by a vehicle.
  • A reckless vehicle with a “Dixie” flag was reported at 4:53 p.m. Saturday at East Broadway and North Hartwell Avenue. The vehicle was gone after police were dispatched to the area.
  • A caller reported that a vehicle was following a preteen girl at 5:43 p.m. Saturday in the 700 block of West Moreland Boulevard. Police made contact with the driver, who was the girl’s stepmother. The two had gotten in a verbal argument and the girl was walking to her mother’s house. The stepmother was following her to make sure she made it there safely.
  • Two men reportedly had bows and were under a bridge at 6:20 p.m. Saturday at Fox River Parkway and Waterview Lane. Police responded but the men had already left the area.
  • A burglary from a garage was reported at 6:24 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of East Park Avenue.
  • A man reportedly asked to shoot guns at 7:50 p.m. Saturday at the Home Depot because he had heard they had a shooting range. Police made contact with the man, who admitted he had a gun legally stored in his trunk but the man refused to let police look in the trunk. Police did not have a criteria for arrest.
  • An intoxicated man apologized after he became upset at his taxi cab driver after the man lost his phone and the driver could not find it at 8:16 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of West Broadway. The intoxicated man verbally threatened to kill the cab driver.
  • A man with mental issues was advised about his behavior after a domestic disturbance was reported at 8:40 p.m. Saturday n the 1500 block of Big Bend Road after a caller heard screaming and yelling. The man was actually yelling to himself while taking out the garbage.
  • A person was arrested at 10:39 p.m. Saturday after a battery was reported in the 400 block of North East Avenue.
  • A person was arrested at 10:42 p.m. Saturday at Pine Street and North Grandview Boulevard.
  • People were advised at 11:20 p.m. Saturday after it was reported that 40 college students were being loud in the 100 block of Cook Street. Police responded, found 10 college students and noted the noise was not excessive.
  • Problems with intoxicated college students were reported at 11:29 p.m. Saturday in the 200 block of North Charles Street. Police also were called to the area of the 200 and 400 blocks of Mccall Street by Alderman Vance Skinner for reports of large groups of college students going between two homes. Police did not observe any abnormal amounts of college kids walking in the Mccall Street area.
  • People were warned about loud noise at 11:57 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Wisconsin Avenue.
  • People were warned about loud noise at 1 a.m. Sunday in the 400 block of North Grandview Boulevard.
  • People were warned about a loud karaoke party at 1:01 a.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Camden Way.
  • Police called for an ambulance of an intoxicated Carroll University student who was not responsive at 1:12 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Main Street. The student’s friends ultimately took custody of him.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 1:36 a.m. Sunday at Arlington Street and North Grand Avenue.
  • A person was arrested and later released at 1:59 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Ann Street.
  • One person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving and another person was arrested for a warrant during a traffic  stop at 2:15 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East Broadway.
  • A person was detained on a warrant at 2:56 a.m. Sunday after it was reported that two men were walking through yards in the 500 block of North West Barstow Street.
  • A person was arrested during a traffic stop at 3:27 a.m. Sunday at Elder Street and North Grandview Boulevard.
  • A person was arrested after a domestic disturbance was reported at 3:52 a.m. Sunday in the 2700 block of Summit Avenue.
