Police Report: Lots of Fireworks; Angry After Bank Closes

Waukesha Police Department calls from July 2 and July 3.

'Tis the season ­– for fireworks. The most recent police call log was riddled with fireworks complaints, including five calls about fireworks throughout the city between 9:25 p.m. and 10:08 p.m. Saturday.

Perhaps the suspect missed the about what is allowed – and not allowed – in the city.

  • The theft of tires from a vehicle was reported at 8:23 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of East Moreland Boulevard.
  • The theft of a wallet and an iPhone from a vehicle was reported at 9:07 a.m. Saturday in the 100 block of East Newhall Avenue.
  • A theft of a mailbox was reported at 10:32 a.m. Saturday in the 1200 block of Swallow Road. Police later located the missing mailbox.
  • A person, who apparently was angry about not getting to a bank before closing, was arrested after it was reported a car with a woman, a male passenger and three children was blocking the bank employees from leaving at 12:09 p.m. Saturday in the 2100 block of East Moreland Boulevard.
  • A person was arrested for retail theft at 2 p.m. Saturday in the 2300 block of Bluemound Road.
  • A person was arrested after a neighbor reported smelling an odor similar to marijuana at 8:27 p.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Springdale Road.
  • A man reported that he believed two men were casing the area of Maple and West Park avenues because the one man asked him for a light for the cigarette when the man’s friend already had a lit cigarette at 11:21 p.m. Saturday. Police responded to the area but the subjects were gone before they arrived.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving at 1:04 a.m. Sunday at East Sunset Drive and Highway 164.
  • An ordinance citation was given after it was reported that two kids hopped the fence to go swimming at Buchner Pool at 1:49 a.m. Sunday.
  • Two people were transported to the hospital after a fight was reported at 2:10 a.m. Sunday in the 200 block of South Street. One of the people transported was not conscious or alert at the time but was breathing.
  • An arrest was made after it was reported a man wearing a colorful sweater and jeans was making sexual gestures and offering services for money at 3 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Main Street.
