Police Report: Graphic Abortion Signs; Stolen Gum; Icy Roads

  • Concerns about abortion protestors with graphic signs on public property in the 500 block of North Washington Avenue were made at 11:35 a.m. Sunday. Another caller asked them to move away from the corner intersection with the signs as they were blocking vision for drivers. Police checked the area and everything was OK.
  • A vehicle’s ignition was damaged and four to five pieces of gum were stolen from the car that was parked at 1:40 p.m. Sunday in the 2400 block of Springdale Road.
  • A person reported at 5:53 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of South West Avenue that the landlord had turned off the heat. Police made contact with the landlord, who turned the pilot light back on after it had gone out.
  • A man was arrested for alcohol detention at 6:09 p.m. Sunday after it was reported he was unable to stand in a store in the 200 block of Madison Street.
  • A car hit a tree at 8:02 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of Fourth Street.
  • A vehicle hit a tree at 8:03 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of North Hine Avenue.
  • An arrest was made after a juvenile problem was reported at 9:51 p.m. Sunday at West Main and Martin streets.
  • A man was arrested after it was reported he was ringing a doorbell at 1:05 a.m. Monday in the 1700 block of Oakdale Drive for an hour.
  • A car hit a tree at 2:13 a.m. Monday in the 2200 block of Pebble Valley Road. The road was completely icy.
  • A burglary was reported at 5:27 a.m. Monday in the 1200 block of White Rock Avenue.
