Police Report: Firefighters Stop Drunken Driver; Vandalism With Mud, Soap

A traffic stop … by firefighters?

It seems strange, but that’s just what happened according to the Waukesha Police Department call log. The Waukesha Fire Department stopped a vehicle that was weaving at 2:29 p.m. Monday at Summit Avenue and North Grandview Boulevard. The driver admitted to consuming alcohol, the report states, and was taken into custody for operating while intoxicated.

  • The theft of wrenches from a vehicle was reported at 9:14 a.m. Monday in the 1400 block of East North Street.
  • A 2-year-old reportedly was found wandering in a yard at 4:42 p.m. Monday in the 1100 block of Birch Drive. It wasn’t the first time the incident had happened, and police contacted social work intake for the child.
  • The theft of money was reported at 6:06 p.m. Monday in the 2500 block of Plaza Court.
  • A park bathroom was reportedly vandalized with mud and soap every where at 8 p.m. Monday in the 200 block of Coolidge Avenue.
  • A man who was laying down by the dumpsters at 11:14 p.m. Monday at  Central Middle School was warned by police about his behavior.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 11:42 p.m. Monday at Union Street and East St. Paul Avenue.
  • A woman was arrested after it was reported she punched her boyfriend five times at 12:14 a.m. Tuesday in the 2400 block of Madison Street.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 1:34 a.m. Tuesday at Hinman and West Newhall avenues.
  • Two arrests were made after it was reported that people that matched the description of vehicle break-ins were at North West and Wisconsin avenues at 3:28 a.m. Tuesday.
  • A man who was locked out of his apartment was reportedly sleeping in a lounge area at 5:41 a.m. Tuesday while waiting for maintenance to let him into the building in the 800 block of North East Avenue.
