Police Report: Excessive Rummage Sales; Planters Stolen; Knife Threat

  • The theft of four planters was reported at 7:39 a.m. Wednesday in the 700 block of North West Avenue.
  • A man reported that his wife sold his motorcycle while he was in jail at 9:24 a.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of Wisconsin Avenue.
  • A man was arrested on a warrant after fleeing on foot from a traffic stop at 11:35 a.m. Wednesday at Garfield Avenue and Ellsworth Place.
  • A man was arrested at 11:38 a.m. Wednesday in the 1200 block of White Rock Avenue after he called police to say he had a knife and he was going to stab someone who threatened him the night before. The man was found at Frame Park and the area schools were notified about the incident to lock down as police responded to arrest the man.
  • Two people were advised after a fight was reported at 12:32 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Madison Court.
  • A disorderly conduct incident was reported at 2:16 p.m. Wednesday at Lawnsdale and River roads.
  • A battery was reported at 2:55 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Ryan Street.
  • A motorcyclist was involved in a car accident but left the scene at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday at Chippewa and East Sunset drives.
  • A window was damaged by a rock at 3:14 p.m. Wednesday in the 1000 block of Motor Avenue.
  • A wallet and car keys were reported stolen at 5:09 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of East Broadway.
  • A theft of a cell phone was reported at 5:12 p.m. Wednesday in the 2100 block of Kensington Drive.
  • A person was arrested on a warrant at 5:27 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of North Grand Avenue.
  • The theft of a wallet and a cell phone was reported at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 300 block of East Broadway.
  • A man with a bottle of vodka reportedly was yelling at people and making rude comments to people walking past at 6:02 p.m. Wednesday. The man was arrested in the 900 block of North Barstow Street.
  • A woman in the 1100 block of White Rock Avenue was warned at 6:48 p.m. Wednesday that she had until Saturday to stop her rummage sale in the 1100 blcok of White Rock Avenue or face citations. A caller reported that the woman had been having a rummage sale every day all summer.
  • A registered sex offender who was walking home from Walmart was warned at 7:26 p.m. Wednesday to walk a different route home because it took him past a park and city ordinances prohibit sex offenders from loitering near parks.
  • The theft of an iPad was reported at 10:51 p.m. Wednesday in the 1100 block of Delafield Street.
  • A person was arrested on a warrant during a traffic stop at 12:16 a.m. Thursday at Macarthur Road and South Grandview Boulevard.
