Police Report: Copper Theft; Fraternity or Baseball Team?

Waukesha Police Department calls from June 24 and June 25.

A possible burglary was reported at 2:16 a.m. Saturday in the 2400 block of Fox River Parkway after a woman was trying to get in through the window. The woman also was banging metal on metal. Police responded and determined the woman was the homeowner who got home late from work and had been accidentally locked out of the home.

In other Waukesha Police Department calls:

  • The theft of copper, two shovels and two rakes from a trailer was reported at 8:03 a.m. Friday in the 1400 block of Poplar Drive.
  • A man was arrested for a retail theft at 3:18 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of East Moreland Boulevard.
  • A theft of a laptop from an auditorium on June 19 was reported at 3:39 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of North East Avenue.
  • A juvenile was cited for using tobacco at 6:25 p.m. Friday at Horeb Spring Park.
  • Five storage units were broken into and reported at 6:37 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Estberg Avenue. It was unknown if anything was taken.
  • A person was arrested after it was reported he was  spraypainting the road at 7:04 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Cambridge Avenue.
  • A 7-year-old and his 15-year-old cousin were warned by police at Horeb Springs Park after it was reported at 8:09 p.m. Friday they were roughhousing and that the 7-year-old urinated on the playground equipment.
  • A theft of an iPod from a vehicle Monday night was reported at 9:20 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of East Wabash Avenue.
  • An intoxicated man who had been at Fiesta Waukesha was arrested after it was reported he was trying to get into a person’s house and causing problems at 10:45 p.m. Friday in the 200 block of South Hartwell Avenue. A fight ensued and an ambulance was asked to respond.
  • A fight involving about 20 people was reported at 12:20 a.m. Saturday in the 200 block of West Main Street. The victim did not want to file a complaint and there was no active fight when police arrived.
  • A person who was found vigorously shaking a stop sign was warned by police and moved along at 12:38 a.m. Saturday at Arcadian and Oakland avenues.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 1:35 a.m. Saturday at Whitby Court and North University Drive.
  • A verbal argument over whether a fraternity or baseball team was better at Carroll University was reported at 2:20 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Williams Street. The people were gone before police arrived.
  • An arrest was made after a domestic disturbance was reported at 3:25 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Big Bend Road. An arrest for drunken driving was also made.
  • An intoxicated man who was screaming at a caller after the caller asked him to stop singing in the apartment complex was warned by police about noise and harassment at 3:55 a.m. Saturday.
