Police Report: Burglary, Theft, Relationship Disputes and More

Brief summaries from the police call log for Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 6 and 7.

The following items are brief summaries from the call log for Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 6 and 7. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary: A burglary was reported in the 200 block of North Comanche Lane Tuesday at 7:18 a.m. The resident returned home late last night and discovered someone had entered their house, took a laptop and gaming station with controls.

Fraud: A resident in the 900 block of Lynne Drive reported fraud Tuesday at 7:41 p.m. His ex-wife forged his signature on documents regarding the sale of property at a lower than agreed upon price. The man however did agree to this lowered price at a later date and signed stating so. Police contacted the ex-wife, who admitted to forging the signature on the earlier documents to lower the sale price. She was advised about her behavior.

She said, he said: A woman called police to report that her child’s father, who had been drinking and upset at their ending relationship, put his foot in front of her tire. The man reported to police that the woman tried to run him over. The couple had been at mediation earlier in the day. Police advised both parties. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of David Court around 6 p.m. Tuesday.

Theft

  • A man was arrested for retail theft at Target, 1250 W. Sunset Dr., Tuesday at 4:42 p.m.
  • Two woman left without paying their restaurant bill from El Ranchito Family Restaurant, 306 Delafield St., Tuesday, 2:24 p.m.
  • Items were stolen from a parked car in the 900 block of North Greenfield Avenue. The incident was reported Tuesday at 8:32 a.m.
  • A driver left without paying for $23.77 worth of gas from Mobil, 1709 Summit Ave., Tuesday at 14:09:35.
  • Gas worth $38.63 was reported stolen from Kwik Trip, 1809 W. St. Paul Ave., Tuesday at 10:33 p.m.

Juvenile Trouble

  • Two separate callers reported to police that four boys or teens were scaring other kids on the playground with what looked to be a cap gun near Heyer Elementary School, 1209 Heyer Dr., Tuesday at 5:23 p.m. Police found the boys and determined it was an air soft gun.
  • A group of juveniles were seen tipping over garbage cans in the 100 block of McCall Street and then running through Carroll University parking lots at 1:20 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Vandalism: A Chevy was reported to be vandalized in the 100 block of Kilps Court sometime prior to Tuesday at 6:55 p.m. when the owner found a flat tire and a window of the car with a hole it in, possibly made by a BB. The owner was unsure when it happened and told police the car had been inoperable for weeks.

Not graffiti: A caller to police reported that a woman was spray-painting stencils on Silvernail Road and North University Drive Tuesday at 5:51:28 p.m. Police determined that the woman was marking a route for a run of some kind.

No Sleeping

  • A homeless man who went to sleep in a parked tow truck in the 400 block of East North Street Tuesday, around 1 p.m. was advised and was moved along by police.
  • A man sleeping in a car Tuesday at 11:55 a.m. in the 500 block of Chicago Avenue was advised and moved along by police after he told police he had worked the previous night and was sleeping before he had to go back to work.
