Police Report

Drunken driving, throwing marshmallows at cars, graffiti and no swimming allowed.

The following is a summary of police calls from Sunday, June 12, and Monday, June 13.

Breaking into a car and running away: Two men wearing hoodies ran away when someone yelled at them after seeing them breaking into a car in the 200 block of West Newhall morning at 2:50 a.m. Monday.

Drunken driving: Police arrested a man on suspicion of drunken driving, his fourth offence in five years and operating after revocation, at 1:16 a.m. Monday morning in the 2800 block of North Grandview Boulevard.

Throwing marshmallows at cars: Children were warned about their behavior after they were observed throwing marshmallows at passing cars at 10:22 p.m. in the 300 block of Gascoigne Drive Sunday night.

Garbage on the lawn: A resident in the 500 block of W College reported to police Sunday night at 10:13 p.m.that someone had ripped open five bags of trash, strewing them across the lawn.

Threats: A resident in 1800 block of Erin Lane called police Sunday night at 10:22 p.m. to report that his neighbor, a registered sex offender, is making threats against him because he called police about children at the neighbor’s house.

Derelict house? A person who was taking pictures of a “derelict” house in the 1200 block of Garfield Avenue called police at 8:20 p.m. Sunday night after someone came out of the house and yelled at him. He wanted police to check and make sure everything was OK at the house. Police found nothing of concern.

Car repossessed and items retrieved: A car owner called police about a man trying to repossess her car in the 400 block of Kimberly Drive at 4:12 p.m. Sunday night. The man was refusing to allow her to retrieve her belongings from the car. Police assisted the woman and the car was turned over to the finance company.

Baby formula thefts: arrests were made Sunday 3:35 p.m. at Pick N Save, 220 E. Sunset Dr., regarding recent thefts of baby formula.

No swimming: Kids were reported to be swimming in a water tunnel near the flower gardens in Frame Park, 1200 White Rock Ave., Sunday 12:34 p.m.

Anti-government graffiti: White spray paint on the wall that said "f*** the government" was reported in the 2500 block of Pebble Valley Road Sunday morning.
