Police Investigating Report of Gunshot

Update 7:15 a.m. Wednesday: No one was shot when a firearm discharged Tuesday evening in the 2100 block of Rambling Rose, Capt. Dennis Angle said early Wednesday morning.

Two people were detained, questioned and released during the investigation but no names are being released at this time, Angle said.

“The firearm was recovered and this incident appears to have been isolated,” Angle said in a news release. “Several interviews were conducted to confirm this belief. There were no injuries reported or observed.”

The police call log indicates differing reports about it being an accidental shooting or an attempted intentional self-inflicted shooting. A bullet hit the window, according to the dispatch report.

The was no information in the call log about the previous domestic disturbance.

The Waukesha Police Department is investigating a report of a gunshot at a residence where there was a domestic dispute earlier Tuesday, according to a news release from Sgt. Jerry Habanek.

The gunshot call came at 7:55 p.m. Tuesday in the 2100 block of Rambling Rose. The police department is continuing the investigation into the origin and the intent of the gunshot at this time, Habanek said.

Further details will be released in the morning. Detectives are continuing the investigation, Habanek said in an e-mail.

Late Tuesday night, the residence had police tape wrapped around the front door and a single squad car parked outside the building.
