Possible Attempted Child Enticement Being Investigated in Waukesha

The is investigating a report of a possible child enticement incident. Two pre-teen boys were approached by an unknown man around 5:30 p.m. Saturday near according to the Waukesha Police Department.

A detective has been assigned to the case after the boys told police a man, who was about 20 years old, exited the vehicle and asked if they wanted to go to a grocery store with him, according to a news release from Sgt. John Konkol.

The boys ignored the man and immediately reported the incident to a parent, who contacted police, Konkol said in the release.

The boys did the right thing by ignoring the man and bringing the incident forward to a parent. Konkol called their actions “super.”

“We haven’t had any other reports in the city of a similar type of vehicle doing it,” Konkol said “This is a one-time occurrence – I hope.”

The suspect is described as being a white male around 20 years old, about 6 feet tall with a muscular build. The vehicle in question was described as being similar to a Chrysler Pacifica – a SUV crossover – silvery white. The plates were reported as being from Wisconsin and 888 PEE. The license plates do not come back on file, according to Konkol.

If people see a vehicle matching the description, they are asked to call the Waukesha Police Department’s non-emergency number at 262-524-3831.

“It is not the right plate number, so if it is something similar to that, we would be interested in checking it out,” Konkol said.
