Police Department Honors Former Alumni Association President

Matt Jendrzejczyk donated time during his tenure as the president of the Waukesha Citizens Academy Alumni Association.

The has built meaningful relationships with the alumni of its citizens academy classes, and among those alumni stands out Matt Jendrzejczyk.

Jendrzejczyk was honored during the Waukesha Police Academy Alumni Associations’ meeting on Monday at the police station for his work as president of the association. Jendrzejczyk is no longer president and Sue Dregne has taken the post.

Jendrzejczyk donated his spare time to work with the police department, according to Sgt. John Konkol.

The alumni association builds a bridge between citizens and the police department, filling a void, according to Konkol. One of the areas that the association has helped the department is fundraising for equipment purchases that are not included in the city’s budget. They also help run events like passing out corn-on-the-cob at Waukesha Night Out and food sales at the Waukesha JanBoree.

“That is enormous because with our budget restraints we don’t have people assigned to do things like that,” Konkol said.
