Police Arrest Suspect After Chase Ends in Downtown Waukesha

Combative person had arrest warrants on file, according to call log.

A person was taken into custody after a vehicle fled from police during a traffic stop at 12:26 a.m. Saturday at Madison and North streets.

The vehicle crashed in downtown Waukesha and the suspect, who had arrest warrants on file, fled on foot intoparking lot, according to the police department’s call log.

Police located a knife in the vehicle, the call log states. A fence at Dopp Park and a police department vehicle were reportedly damaged in the incident.

The call log also states the suspect was combative. Police had found the suspect hiding in a van.

An ambulance was called for a passenger in the vehicle who had facial injuries, the call log states.
