Waukesha Postal Worker Gets OWI After Crashing Mail Truck

Police found an open bottle of brandy in the postal vehicle Saturday morning, according to a report.

A Waukesha postal worker was arrested Saturday morning for drunken driving after crashing into multiple vehicles near 909 Blackstone Ave.

The responded to the scene at 11:32 a.m., according to Capt. Ron Oremus.

Officers found an open bottle of brandy on the floor board of the postal vehicle at 909 Blackstone Ave. They determined through a preliminary breath test that the 45-year-old man had a .18 percent blood alcohol concentration, Oremus said in an e-mail.

Police identified the postal worker as Scott L. Schepp, who was booked and released after police took blood evidence from him. The citation is being forwarded to the city attorney’s office, according to Oremus.

The vehicle also was damaged in a separate accident that police believe occurred just outside of Waukesha, Oremus said.
