Plea Date Set for Man Accused of Sexual Assault

A 20-year-old Waukesha man accused of sexually assaulting at least three young children has set a plea date in the felony charges against him in

Charles Waite is charged with five counts of sexual assault of a child and faces up to 300 years in prison. He’s currently free on a $7,500 surety bond. He will return to court at 10 a.m. Feb. 1 for a plea hearing.

According to the criminal complaint:

Waite is accused of touching a 5-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy on multiple occasions and also making the young boy look at pictures of half naked women. A 4-year-old girl also came forward and told investigators Waite had touched her inappropriately on another occasion when he was babysitting her.

Waite, who was a student at the University of Wisconsin-Waukesha at the time, told investigators he has a “touching problem” and admitted to touching the three victims on several occasions. He also told investigators he had been investigated by officers when he was in high school for touching other students.
