Photos, Video: City Celebrates New Waukesha Fire Station

Fire Station No. 2 on Pearl Street was completed in December.

Firefighters from Station No. 2 moved into the new building on Pearl Street in December and city officials celebrated the move Thursday afternoon.

Tours of the new facility followed a unique ribbon cutting. Instead of scissors, a drove the truck through the yellow tape.

The fire station was moved to Pearl Street from Stardust Drive to equalize response times throughout the city while addressing an aging facility at the department. The project has come in under its $2.6 million budget, according to Assistant Fire Chief Steve Howard, however final budget numbers are not yet available.
