Pedestrian Hit By Vehicle, Has Non-Life Threatening Injuries

Waukesha Police Department reports woman was not in the crosswalk when a vehicle hit her.

A 62-year-old woman was transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital with non-life threatening injuries after she was hit by a vehicle near East Avenue and Park Street, according to a news release from Sgt. Jerry Habanek.

The woman was crossing East Avenue in a diagonal fashion near the toward East Broadway and was not in the crosswalk. One southbound vehicle missed her, the release states, but she was then hit by a northbound vehicle at 5:53 p.m. Wednesday.

“The victim and operator both appeared to be sober,” the release states. “This accident is still under investigation. No more information regarding this accident is available at this time. This was the ninth accident that the Waukesha Police Department has responded to today since 3 p.m.”
