Officer Rescues Ducklings From Girls With Lunch Boxes; Other Police Calls

Waukesha Police Department calls from June 21 through June 24.

Little ducklings swimming in the Fox River in Frame Park had an encounter with two girls playing in the park that required police to step in and rescue the ducklings.

A caller reported at 1:53 p.m. Friday that the two girls had placed the ducklings in lunchboxes.

Waukesha police responded and found the girls were in possession of the ducklings. The responding officer released the two baby ducks back into the river, warned the girls and contacted their parents.

A Waukesha Metro Bus driver reported asking people to leave a bus at 1:23 p.m. Friday at West Main and North Barstow streets after people were “setting off stink bombs and poppers on the bus.”

Waukesha police responded and learned one of the individuals involved had purchased a fake fart cushion from The Joke Shop in downtown Waukesha and had accidentally sat on the cushion on the bus.

No complaint was filed by the bus driver.

  • A domestic disturbance incident was reported at 3:30 p.m. Friday in the 800 block of Pleasant Street.
  • A patio umbrella was stolen at 3:55 p.m. Friday in the 300 block of Blair Court.
  • An arrest was made after a man was reportedly found unconscious at 5:14 p.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Summit Avenue. Drugs and syringes were found in the residence.
  • Two people – one with a broken ankle and one with an eyebrow laceration – were transported to the hospital at 12:48 a.m. Saturday after a fight broke out at a party in the 200 block of West Newhall Avenue. One victim reported a gun being held to his head, however, the victim was unsure if it was a real gun as the suspect had been using a BB gun earlier in the day. The police department’s call log states officers exhausted all resources in an attempt to get the suspect to come to the door early Saturday morning.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving after a man and a woman were seen arguing at 1:51 a.m. Saturday near Waukesha Public Library.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 1:58 a.m. Saturday at Joellen Drive and Cambridge Avenue.
  • A property damage only accident occurred at 12:02 p.m. Saturday at Highway 59 and East Racine Avenue.
  • A motorcycle driver walked away with road rash after flipping the bike into a field at 7:56 p.m. Saturday at Saylesville and River roads.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 8:43 p.m. Saturday at Highway 59 and Center Road.
  • An arrest was made after a vehicle backed into a cart corral at a high rate of speed at 10:56 p.m. Saturday at Walmart.
  • Two arrests were made after it was reported shirtless juveniles were walking in the road at 12:15 a.m. Sunday in the 900 block of Milwaukee Avenue.
  • A person was arrested after it was reported juveniles were walking in yards, acting bizarre and taking off clothing at 1:20 a.m. Sunday in the 2000 block of Butler Drive.
  • One person was hospitalized after a bloody fight at 1:40 a.m. Sunday in the 300 block of West Main Street. The victims and the bar manager did not want to press charges in the fight.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving after crashing into a pole at 2:16 a.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of Shepherd Court.
  • A battery incident was reported at 2:39 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of White Rock Avenue.
  • A man was arrested after causing a disturbance at 3:27 a.m. Sunday in the 2100 block of South West Avenue.
  • A man was arrested for disorderly conduct at 2:34 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Wisconsin Avenue.
  • A man was arrested after a domestic disturbance was reported at 6:41 p.m. Sunday in the 400 block of Mccall Street.
  • Four people reportedly jumped the fence at the former Golden Guernsey dairy and were spotted by the giant cow at 7:19 p.m. Sunday. Police checked the area and ensured the doors were secure.
  • A person was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving during a traffic stop at 10:41 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Airport Road.
  • Two juveniles were arrested and turned over to their guardians after they stole lip balm, lighters and coffee at 12:40 a.m. Monday in the 1600 block of East Sunset Drive.
