Nick Wilcox Drowned With a .22% BAC

Kettle Moraine High School graduate's family questions the ruling of an accidental drowning.

When Nick Wilcox, 24, a Kettle Moraine High School graduate, accidentally drowned in the Milwaukee River early Jan. 1, his blood alcohol concentration was .22 percent, according to Patch’s media partners WISN 12 News.

The toxicology test was negative for other drugs, according to WISN.

Wilcox’s funeral is planned for Saturday with a burial on Sunday.

Family and friends searched for months for Wilcox after he went missing. Wilcox was last seen between 1 a.m. and 2 a.m. Jan. 1 outside the Irish Rec Room on Old World Third Street in downtown Milwaukee. 

Wilcox’s body was found last week in the Milwaukee River after months of searching. His family questions the medical examiner’s ruling that his death was an accidental drowning, according to WISN 12 News.

“We still think there is more to this story,” his dad, Nick Wilcox Sr., told WISN 12 News. “Maybe some day we can find out ­– maybe we won’t – but the scenario that has been played out is not Nick.”
