Milwaukee Woman Charged with Bringing Drugs to Waukesha Teen Dance

Suspect allegedly tried to shove gum wrapper with heroin in it down her bra to prevent officers from taking it.

An 18-year-old Milwaukee woman is facing multiple drug charges after she allegedly tried to enter a dance at the Waukesha County Expo Center with a marijuana pipe and heroin.

Vanessa G. DiMartino was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of possession of narcotic drugs, two counts of possession of an illegally obtained prescription and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, she faces up to 4 years and 9 months in prison and $11,500 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, a Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department deputy working security for “The Night Storm” teen dance on Monday saw DiMartino walking side-to-side while going through the parking of the expo center and asked if she was OK.

A detective then spotted DiMartino running into the entrance of the building where the dance was taking place and stopped her and let her know officials would need to search her purse before she could enter the dance. She then told the detective she had a marijuana pipe in her purse, which he could have, and when he asked if she had any other illegal substances in the purse she replied, “Yes, my sister put something in there.”

The detective opened up a side pocket within the purse, the complaint states, and  found a condom and gum wrapper, which DiMartino then quickly took and placed in her rear pants pocket. An officer then tried to retrieve the items but DiMartino then took them and shoved the items into her bra.

When confronted about doing this, she then shook out her shirt until the gum wrapper fell out, which the complaint states contained heroin.

Officers then further searched DiMartino’s purse and discovered numerous prescription pills.

DiMartino is free on a $2,500 signature bond while awaiting trial.
