Man Reports Girlfriend for Drugs, Gets Charged Himself

A 30-year-old Milwaukee man is facing charges after he tried to turn his girlfriend in for cocaine possession after he suspected she was cheating on him.

Sergio Perez Franco was charged in on Thursday with one count of possession of cocaine. If convicted, he faces up to one year in Waukesha County Jail and $5,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

At 9:40 a.m. Wednesday, Franco walked into the Waukesha County Courthouse and approached a Waukesha County sheriff’s deputy about turning in his girlfriend for cocaine possession. The deputy had a hard time understanding Franco due to a language barrier, but followed him out to his car where Franco said his girlfriend was waiting.

When they got to the car the deputy noticed it was empty, but Franco went inside and pulled out a baby sock with cocaine inside and Franco said his girlfriend had one ounce of cocaine at her Waukesha residence.

Franco said his girlfriend was at work, but he wanted to turn her in for cocaine possession because he believed she was cheating on him.

He was assigned a $1,000 signature bond Thursday while awaiting trial.
