Man Overdoses On Heroin Above Girlfriend's Day Care

A Franksville man is accused of overdosing on heroin in a residence above his girlfriend’s day care in the Town of Genesee.

Jamie A. Robinson, 36, was charged Friday in Waukesha County Circuit Court with possession of heroin, possession of buprenorphine and possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to one year, eight months in jail, $11,000 in fines and 100 hours of community service.

Robinson remains jailed in lieu of $250 bail.

A Waukesha County deputy was dispatched to Little Explorers Day Care, S48W28180 Saylesville Road, for a report of an overdose in the home above the day care. When the deputy arrived, Robinson had regained consciousness, but the officer found heroin, buprenorphine, and a needle, a syringe and a spoon in his backpack, according to the criminal complaint.

Robinson was taken into custody and transported to Waukesha Memorial Hospital. While he was in route to the hospital, Robinson started snoring in the back of the squad car, the complaint states.

Robinson admitted to injecting heroin at 7 a.m., telling the deputy he did it while the day care center was closed, the complaint states. However, the deputy noticed a child about 2 years old on the first floor of the building. The day care, which is licensed to Robinson’s girlfriend, has state-approved hours of operation from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m.
