Man Faces Prison For Smoking Weed Behind Building

Man charged after he admits bag of marijuana on the ground is his, according to criminal complaint.

A Waukesha man is facing prison time after someone reported he was smoking marijuana behind a building with three other men in October.

Roy Phillips, 46, was charged in on Monday with one count of second offense possession of THC, the active ingredient in marijuana. If convicted, he faces up to 3-Β½ years in prison and $10,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint:

Oct. 14, Phillips and three other men were smoking the drug behind a building in the 100 block of Cambridge Avenue when someone called the cops. When police arrived they found the men standing there with a bag of marijuana sitting on the ground.

Phillips eventually admitted the bag of drugs was his and told officers he tossed it on the ground when he saw them approaching.

Phillips is currently out of custody and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
