Man Faces Drug Charge After Truck Lands on Wall

Suspect blames"some Hispanic guy" he met at the bar for driving the truck onto the wall, according to complaint.

A Waukesha man spent the night drinking and playing pool at a local bar before getting his truck stuck on a retaining wall, according to a criminal compliant.

Michael P. McMullen, 25, recently was charged in with one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of bail jumping. If convicted, he faces up to 10 months in prison and $10,500 in fines.

At 1:57 p.m. Feb. 6, police were called to the 1300 block of Arcadian Avenue after a truck was reported stuck on a retaining wall. When police arrived at the scene, no one was near the truck, but McMullen and another man were standing nearby.

McMullen told police it was his truck on the wall but insisted he wasn’t driving. He told officers it was his birthday and he spent the night drinking and playing pool with “some Hispanic guy” at . When he wanted to leave he knew he was too drunk to drive, so McMullen said he let the “Hispanic guy” drive his truck despite the fact the man was a stranger.

Police continued to press McMullen about who was actually driving the truck, but he continued to insist it wasn’t him.

Police then searched McMullen and found a bottle of Oxycodone. Although the prescription had been filled two days prior, 85 of the 110 pills were already gone.

McMullen also had $2,445 in cash with him as well at the time. He was taken into custody and police later found a buprenorphine pill in his pocket.
