Man Charged With Stabbing Person in Arm with Pen

Complaint alleges suspect, 18, claimed staff at Waukesha Salvation Army stole his Social Security number in order to open up a bank account.

An 18-year-old Helenville man is facing charges for allegedly smashing a computer and stabbing another man in the arm with a pen at the Waukesha Salvation Army.

Michael L. Hamrick was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of battery and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, he could face up to one year in prison and $11,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, Hamrick was staying at the Salvation Army recently and claimed someone stole his Social Security card and was attempting to open a bank account with it and began to blame a staff member.

Hamrick then went “crazy,” the complaint states, and punched a computer, then stabbed it with a pen and then stabbed another man in the arm with the pen.

Hamrick is free from jail on a $1,000 signature bond.
