Man Charged After Near Drug Overdose

Man was found passed out in his apartment by his landlord who was coming to confront him about late rent payments, according to criminal complaint.

A Waukesha man is facing drug charges after he almost overdosed on heroin, but was found by his landlord who was coming to talk with him about late rent payments, according to a court document filed in

According to the criminal complaint, Brian K. Schulz, 26, was found by his landlord Tuesday afternoon in his apartment in the 400 block of West Main Street after he was coming to confront his tenant about his late rent payments. The landlord found Schulz unconscious but breathing and was able to wake him, but Schulz remained groggy with extremely droopy eyelids.

After calling for medical attention, officers searched the apartment and found heroin and tin foil bindles that once contained the drug, along with two empty prescription pill bottles for methadone and Diazepam, the complaint states.

Schulz is charged with one count of possession of narcotics and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. If convicted, he faces up to three years and nine months in prison, and $10,500 in fines.
