Man Asks Cops for a 'Taser Ride' While being Arrested

Suspect, allegedly was resisting arrest in order to show off to another man in Waukesha.

A Waukesha man is facing charges after he allegedly resisted arrest and asked officers to give him a “Taser ride” while being taken into custody intoxicated.

Zachary L. Hebbring, 21, was charged in Waukesha County Circuit Court Tuesday with one count of resisting an officer and one count of disorderly conduct. If convicted, he faces up to one year in prison and $11,000 in fines.

According to the criminal complaint, at 4:33 a.m. April 11, a Waukesha police officer heard Hebbring and another man shouting while walking on West St. Paul Avenue, who then told him they had been drinking that night.

While the officer was talking with the two men, the complaint states Hebbring put his hands in his pockets, but took them out after the officer asked him to. He then told the officer he wanted a cigarette, but the officer told him again to keep his hands out of his pockets.

Hebbring ignored the order, which caused the officer to try and pat him down, but Hebbring then said the officer couldn’t search him and tried to pull away from the officer. Another officer soon arrived at the scene and both were able to handcuff Hebbring.

The complaint states he still refused to let the officers search him, but said something to the effect of trying to resist in order to show off to the other man with him. While attempting to place Hebbring in the back of the squad car, he told them he wanted a “Taser ride” and then began to resist once again, according to the complaint.

Hebbring had a blood alcohol level of 0.171 percent at the time of the incident, the complaint states.
