Man Accused of Sexual Assaults Waives Preliminary Hearing

UW-Waukesha student accused to assaulting three young children will appear in court again Aug. 18.

A University of Wisconsin-Waukesha student accused of sexually assaulting at least three young children waived his preliminary hearing Friday.

Charles Waite, 19, of Waukesha, is charged with five counts of sexual assault of a child and faces up to 300 years in prison. He’s currently free on a $7,500 surety bond.

According to the criminal complaint, Waite touched a 5-year-old girl and 10-year-old boy on multiple occasions and also made the young boy look at pictures of half naked women. A 4-year-old girl also came forward and told investigators Waite had touched her inappropriately on another occasion when he was babysitting her.
