The two women were waiting for a bus on May 2 in the 200 block of East St. Paul Avenue when Mundschau, carrying beer and a bottle of vodka, approached them and began repeatedly asking for cigarettes. After the women didn’t give him any, he brandished a knife and demanded cigarettes, which prompted the women to call police.
Mundschau was found by officers carrying a folding knife and Swiss army knife and taken into custody with a blood alcohol level of 0.28. After he sobered up a bit, officers interviewed him and he said he didn’t recall the events of the day, but denied pulling a knife on the women.
