Waukesha Fire Department puts out grass fire.

Rumors of a loud explosion were spreading wildly Monday night as Waukesha residents were using social networking to determine the noise they heard. Some described it as a large boom. Others thought a house exploded.

The answer, which Waukesha Patch put on its Facebook and Twitter pages Monday night, was fireworks.

The Waukesha police and fire departments were dispatched at 9:25 p.m. Monday to the 300 block of Prairie Song Drive after a caller reported hearing two explosions and seeing flames.
