House Fire on Lemira Ave. Causes $30K in Damage

No injuries reported in Sunday's blaze.

A house fire that broke out Sunday evening caused $30,000 in damage but no injuries were sustained during the blaze.

Waukesha firefighters responded at 8:09 p.m. to 421 Lemira Ave. for a report of smoke and flames showing. The first fire units were on scene within three minutes to find all residents safely out of the home, according to a news release from Battalion Chief Steve Ore.

The fire was under control in 15 minutes. The fire appears to have started in the chimney, the release states. The homeowner had a fire burning in the fireplace and noticed smoke coming from the ceiling.

The fire remains under investigation by the Waukesha Fire Department, although it appears the fire started in the chimney area, according to the news release.
