Home 'Fully Engulfed' in Town of Vernon House Fire

There were no injuries in the overnight fire, but the home was destroyed.

No injuries were reported in an overnight fire in the Town of Vernon that “substantially damaged” a home there.

According to the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department, crews responded to a home in the S7600 block of Mount Everest Road at 11:29 p.m. Wednesday. Four occupants of the house there noticed a fire in the attached garage, called 911 and evacuated.

WISN 12 News reported that at least 11 departments responded, including Waukesha, New Berlin, Elm Grove and Mukwonago.

The release stated that the house “became fully engulfed” and several vehicles and a boat were damaged along with the house. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
