Have Unused Prescriptions? You Can Turn Them in on Saturday

Do you have old prescription drugs that you need to get rid of?

The Waukesha Police Department and other agencies throughout the county are participating from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday in theΒ Drug Collection and Awareness initiative sponsored by the Drug Free Communities of Waukesha County.

This initiative will focus on removing potentially dangerous pharmaceutical controlled substances from medicine cabinets, according to a news release.

The City of Waukesha Police Department welcomes any Waukesha area residents to bring their unused or unwanted prescription pills to the Waukesha State Bank Downtown Office – Employee Parking Lot (St. Paul Ave. at Madison St.). Officers and members of the community will be there to provide a convenient and responsible means of disposal at no cost.

"We truly hope the public takes advantage of this unique opportunity, which is free and convenient," said Lt. Joe Hendricks in a news release.
