Hartland Man Dies After Hitting Pewaukee Police Car

The funeral for Joshua Lang, of Hartland, will be held on Friday after he died from his injuries at Froedtert Hospital.

A 27-year-old Hartland man died from his injuries after hitting a Pewaukee police officer’s squad car with his motorcycle on Highway 16 at 9:58 a.m. Tuesday, according to a news release from the Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department.

Joshua Lang was transported to Froedtert Hospital via Flight For Life. He was pronounced dead at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday. A visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Friday with the funeral service starting at 5 p.m. at St. Charles Catholic Church, 313 Circle Drive, Hartland, according to his obituary.

The Waukesha County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the accident at the request of the Pewaukee Police Department.

A Pewaukee police officer was responding to a call after it was reported several paver bricks were partially in the median on eastbound Highway 16. The officer had his emergency lights activated and as he was positioning his marked squad, a motorcyclist traveling eastbound in the median lane struck the right rear quarter panel of the squad car, according to the news release.
