Self-Inflicted Shot at Gun Range Under Investigation

The Waukesha Police Department is investigating a self-inflected gunshot wound at Fletcher Arms, 1441 E. Main St., that occurred just after 3 p.m. Tuesday.

The victim was shot in the head and was transported via Flight For Life for emergency medical care for the life-threatening wound, according to Capt. Ron Oremus.

"It is very early on in this investigation, and it is unknown at this time whether it was intentional or accidental but it has been confirmed that no other individuals were involved," the news release states.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time. No additional details are expected to be released on Tuesday.
