Gun Call Leads to Standoff in Waukesha on Saturday

Streets blocked off as man was allegedly threatening self harm.

Police were involved in a standoff for about 30 minutes after a man threatened to harm himself with a gun at 7:54 p.m. Saturday in the 400 block of Richard Street, according to the t call log.

According to the call log:

Police blocked off traffic on South West Avenue and Richard Street during the incident.

Three other people were in the home at the time of the incident. No injuries were reported.

Police were alerted to the situation through a friend of one of the other people in the home. The person was on the phone with the friend, who contacted police.

That person managed to get the gun away from the man. The man was reported to have temper and alcohol issues.

Police recovered the gun in the incident.
