Former Spancrete Facility Catches Fire

No significant damage at site that will be demolished, according to fire marshal. Former Spancrete Facility Catches Fire

The former Spancrete building caught fire Tuesday evening at 1600 E. Main St. The fire appears to have started by salvage work done in the facility, according to Marshal Brian Charlesworth.

“There was no significant damage done to the facility, but just a small fire inside,” Charlesworth said in a voice message to Waukesha Patch.

Spancrete closed earlier this year and the site is slated to be demolished to make room for Woodman’s Food Market.
