Fire Station No. 2 Has Moved

Waukesha firefighters transition into new building on Pearl Street.

The announced Friday evening that Fire Station No. 2 has moved from 1701 Stardust Drive to 1714 Pearl St.

A news release Fire Chief Allen LaConte states that the project was finished under the projected $2.6 million construction budget that was approved by the Common Council in 2010 for the 2011 budget year.

Last spring, Crews from Waukesha-based  worked all year to construct the new building. It was built just off of highways 59 and 164 in an effort to equalize response times throughout the city while addressing an aging facility at 1701 Stardust Drive.

The new station will house a paramedic ambulance, a quint fire apparatus and will allow for the climate-controlled storage of the fire safety house and reserve fire apparatus, according to the news release from LaConte.

“The fire department would like to thank the citizens, mayor and council for their continued support and commitment to fire safety in our community,” LaConte said in the news release.
