'Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition' Filming Bob Brenner Weigh-In in Waukesha

Waukesha County Sheriff's Department Detective Bob Brenner was more than 400 pounds in May 2012. A year later, he is stepping on the scale in front of hundreds of people just to see how much weight he lost in a year.

Imagine stepping on the scale in front of hundreds of people, all eyes on you as the three numbers flash for all to see. While it might seem like a nightmare for some people, For Brenner, a one-time 400-plus detective, it marks a victory and an end to his yearlong weight loss journey with Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition. And you are invited! The streets in downtown Waukesha will be closed Saturday, May 18, at the Five Points for a portion of the taping from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. However, the big reveal happens at Carroll University’s Schneider Stadium on Sunday, May 19. The May 18 filming does not include a crowd and the streets are closed to allow the show to tape B-roll footage in the intersection. Brenner, who also has served as an assistant football coach at Waukesha North High School, will be flanked by family, friends and the community as he steps on the scale one last time to show the world just how many pounds he lost in a year. The public is asked to check in at 3 p.m. and filming will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. People are asked to dress casually with no logos on their clothing. Additionally, they are asked to wear something other than all white or all black. However, Brenner is selling T-shirts for $15 for the event. The T-shirt sales will benefit the Wounded Warriors Project. T-shirts can be purchased online through May 8 and also on the day of the event at Carroll University To reserve a spot at the filming, email waukeshafinale@gmail.com and include your full name, email address, phone number, and the number of people in your party and the details for the shoot will be sent as they become available. For updates about the show, you can follow Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition on Facebook. Make sure to “like” the Waukesha Patch Facebook page while you are at it! Brenner is not the only Waukesha County resident to be on the show. A brother-sister team from North Prairie will also appear on the show documenting their weight loss journey together.
