Excessive Celebration? Police Respond to Calls Relating to Excited Packers and Bears Fans

Waukesha Police Department Calls from Sunday and early Monday.

The celebration about the Green Bay Packers advancement in the playoffs might have lasted a little too long.

A group of intoxicated people excited that the Packers had won Saturday night were advised at 12:58 a.m. Monday to keep the noise down after a complaint was made in the 700 block of Morgan Avenue. The people told police they were celebrating the victory.

Earlier Sunday, it was Chicago Bears fans who received police attention.

Police received a 911 hang up in the 300 block of Western Avenue at 5:45 p.m. When dispatch called back, the caller did not know why the phone had dialed but she was out of breath. Police responded and the people at the house showed no distress but were celebrating the Bears’ win.

• An arrest was made after a domestic disturbance was reported at 12:14 p.m. Sunday in the 2800 block of Sussex Lane.

• A group of people who arrived at a judge’s house at 5:03 p.m. Sunday after an arrest was made by a U.S. Marshal. Police advised the group that if they returned to the judge’s house, they would be arrested.

• A man was arrested after a woman reported at 7:32 p.m. Sunday that the man punched her, choked her and tried to take away her phone when she called 911.

• A caller in the 100 block of Cambridge Avenue reported at 8:42 p.m. Sunday a group of juveniles walking down the road with khaki pants and bandanas over their faces. The caller believed the juveniles were going to commit a crime. Police met with the juveniles, who were wearing surgical masks as makeshift scarves to keep their faces warm.

• A man was advised after it was reported he was urinating on a building while smoking a cigarette at 9:14 p.m. Sunday in the 200 block of Madison Street.

• An ordinance citation was given in the 1900 block of Madera Street after a caller reported at 12:07 a.m. Monday receiving more than 100 text messages in one day from a former boyfriend.

• A person was taken into custody on a warrant at 1:08 a.m. Monday in the 400 block of North Moreland Boulevard. A possible domestic disturbance had been reported at the residence but police determined there was only a verbal argument.

• A suspicious person was grabbing handles of car doors at 1:20 a.m. Monday at Darlene Drive and South West Avenue. The man was gone before police arrived.

• Police assisted extremely intoxicated people in getting home after it was reported the people were falling on the ground at 2:12 a.m. Monday in the 2100 block of Easy Street.
