Deputy Chief Mark Stigler is Retiring

Last day is Aug. 10 for outgoing Waukesha deputy police chief.

Waukesha Deputy Police Chief Mark Stigler is moving on. Stigler briefly confirmed his retirement from the police department Tuesday afternoon.

“Time to do a little bit of a career change,” Stigler said in a very brief phone call from out of state.

Stigler's last day with the department will be Aug. 10, according to an e-mail from Police Chief Russell Jack.

"Congratulations to Mark on an outstanding career," Jack said in an e-mail to city leaders. "We are very proud of his service, dedication and commitment to the Waukesha Police Department and the City of Waukesha.

"He will leave a large hole in the police department, but I am happy for him and his family that he will be able to enjoy his retirement On behalf of the city and the department, I wish Mark all the best in the future."

Stigler has been deputy chief in Waukesha since January 26, 2010, according to the Police and Fire Commission minutes. Stigler replaced then-Deputy Chief Wayne Dussault who also retired from the Waukesha Police Department.

Stigler received his master's degree in homeland security and defense from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, CA, in December.
