Convicted Sex Offender Pleads Guilty To Misdemeanor In Plea Deal

The Waukesha man was working with a youth football team despite having his application to do so denied.

A convicted sex offender who was facing felony charges of working with children instead pleaded guilty Monday to misdemeanor disorderly conduct.

John E. Orosco was found guilty by Waukesha County Circuit Court Judge Jennifer R. Dorow on Monday, according to court records.

Orosco, who worked with the Junior Blackshirts youth football team even though his application to coach the team was denied, pleaded no contest misdemeanor and was fined $883.

Last year, police took more than 100 pictures of the man working with the Junior Blackshirts youth football team during practices.  He was initially charged with two counts of felony child sex offender working with children.

The criminal complaint states he was with the team in the photos and videos police took, which showed players blocking maneuvers on the football field.

Officials with the Waukesha Youth Football League program said they had denied Orosco’s request to coach because of his background check and that any involvement he had with the team was not approved by the organization.

Orosco was convicted in 1994 of second-degree sexual assault of a child under 16 for an incident with a 15-year-old girl when he was 20. He also served two years in prison for a 1997 third-degree sexual assault.
