Man Dies Following Springdale Apartment Car Crash

This article has been updated to include information from police that the driver was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A 56-year-old Waukesha man died Wednesday night after the car he was driving veered off Springdale Road, hit a utility box and narrowly missed hitting an apartment building at 5:30 p.m.

Police determined at the scene that the man was suffering a severe medical emergency. The man was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to police.

A man in his 50s suffering from a severe medical emergency was the victim in a one-car accident at the Springdale Apartments, in the 2400 block of Springdale Road, at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the .

The man was transported to by the , according to police. The man’s condition is unknown at this time, police said.

Police believe that the vehicle struck another vehicle in the roadway, and then veered into the parking lot of an apartment building. The vehicle struck a green ground transformer box, severing it from its base, and stopped prior to making contact with the apartment building, according to police.
