An apparent cooking fire caused minimal damage Wednesday afternoon, although the five residents of the apartment are displaced from the unit.
The Waukesha Fire Department was called to 347 Dodie Drive for a report of a fire. Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire in the apartment building. The residents of the building were allowed to return to the building – except for the people living in the originating unit, according to Battalion Chief Joe Vitale.
No one was injured during the fire. The American Red Cross was called to the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
